About Project
The theatre Dodecalogy 1972–1983 (a part of the DESTINYation project) directed by Tomi Janežič is a year-long theatre omnibus of twelve theatre productions. This transgenerational documentary fiction explores Nova Gorica as a place of growing up and as a place with surprising links to other cities. Through family stories, it addresses the themes of borders, socio-political changes, war and so on. It sketches a network of life destinies that span across time and are marked by journeys and migrations. But above all, this is an omnibus about theatre itself.
The Dodecalogy is being created in Nova Gorica, Ljubljana, Timisoara, Ivano-Frankivsk, Novi Sad and as a part of the Krušče Creative Centre. It will be showcased in 2025 as a part of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica/Gorizia 2025!, one production per month.
PLAY SCHEDULE:
January 2025: 1972 a theatre play for one person (at a time) in a caravan at SNG Nova Gorica
February 2025: premiere of the play 1973 on the small stage of SNG Nova Gorica
March 2025: premiere of the play 1974 at the Slovenian Mladinsko Theatre in Ljubljana
April 2025: guest performance 1975 of the Ivan Franko Academic Drama Theater from Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine) in Nova Gorica
May 2025: a unique event in 1976 at the stadium in Nova Gorica
June 2025: performance 1977 in the auditorium of SNG Nova Gorica
July 2025: guest performance 1978 of the Hungarian State Theater Csiky Gergely from Timisoara (Romania) in Nova Gorica
August 2025: premiere of the play 1979 at the Creative Center in Krušče
September 2025: premiere of the play 1980 at the Slovenian Mladinsko Theatre in Ljubljana
October 2025: guest performance 1981 by the Novi Sad Theater Újvidéki Színház (Serbia) in SNG Nova Gorica
November 2025: premiere of the play 1982 on the small stage of SNG Nova Gorica
December 2025: final event, performance 1983 in Nova Gorica
