Dodecalogy 1972–1983 will present its tenth part this October in Nova Gorica.
The production 1981 by the Hungarian Theatre of Novi Sad premiered a year ago and has since been successfully performed for both domestic and international audiences. Several critics have declared it the best production in Serbia and one of the ten best European productions of the year.

Dodecalogy 1972–1983 a performance that spans an entire year. With its tenth part it will offer audiences who have been following it from the beginning, a full day and a half (36 hours) of theatrical experience; from 1972, a performance for one spectator, to 1976, staged in a stadium for thousands, to the chamber productions of 1979 and 1980. Alongside repertoire performances in our theatres and unique events, it has also featured and will feature three guest appearances from abroad.
Dozens of actors from five domestic and foreign state theatres, as well as hundreds of other collaborators, have participated in the productions.
The 1972 production for one spectator has already had more than 300 showings, while the other performances together have had more than 100. By the end of the year, the total audience numbers will match those of a fully sold-out small stage production performed every other day throughout the year.

About Project
The theatre Dodecalogy 1972–1983 (a part of the DESTINYation project) directed by Tomi Janežič is a year-long theatre omnibus of twelve theatre productions. This transgenerational documentary fiction explores Nova Gorica as a place of growing up and as a place with surprising links to other cities. Through family stories, it addresses the themes of borders, socio-political changes, war and so on. It sketches a network of life destinies that span across time and are marked by journeys and migrations. But above all, this is an omnibus about theatre itself.
The Dodecalogy is being created in Nova Gorica, Ljubljana, Timisoara, Ivano-Frankivsk, Novi Sad and as a part of the Krušče Creative Centre. It will be showcased in 2025 as a part of the European Capital of Culture Nova Gorica/Gorizia 2025!, one production per month.
